Life Update | Personal

I crawled into bed at 12:45am last night (this morning?) and snuggled next to Joel in complete darkness. We whispered our hellos as he was trying to get the last bits of shut eye in before he had to wake up at 2:00am for work. Our schedules have been complete opposite for about the past month...when I'm out of town, he's off, and when I'm at home, he's at work. Between both of our odd schedules, we have hardly gotten to see each other lately. But hey, we enjoy the little pockets of time we're given. Anyways, I was wide awake and wanting to just gush to him about my amazing trip in California, but to keep it short, all I could think to say was,

My heart is full.

And boy is it. My heart is so full right now. I couldn't be more thankful for the people in my life, the places my photography continues to take me, and the experiences I have along the way. I could have come home from this trip feeling overworked and exhausted with a crazy line-up or shooting, or even frustrated with the crazy-eyed flight attendant who caught me with 3 carry-on items instead of 2 (does a light stand really count? Come on, it's tiny.); but instead, I came home feeling refreshed and alive with a clear perspective. And I couldn't be more thankful.

I don't know what it was, I'm sure it was a combination of it all, but this trip really was such a blessing to me. I went, I did my job to the best of my abilities, and I had a blast doing it. I witnessed the most beautiful kind of love there is this weekend. It was pure, sincere, loyal, affectionate, comforting, and joyous. I've never seen families come together the way these families did this weekend. It just really touched my heart! I was thrilled to be there to capture so much beauty in life.

After a weekend like this is when I realize why I capital L-O-V-E LOOOOOVE my job. Love it.

I'm pretty sure at one point throughout the weekend I had to remind myself, "yes Korie, this is REEEAL LIFE."

Anyways, just thought I'd let you fine readers know what's going on in this neck of the woods lately. Just know loads of pretties that will make you swoon clear into next week are coming soon :)

Had to get a little selfie on the coast :)

My heart is full too because an amazing photographer, YOU, that captured each and every special moment of the perfect wedding and all the activities of that special time in California! As the mother of the bride, I was amazed as I watched you, Korie! Your gentle approach, wonderful guidance and professionalism was so impressive! You had a constant smile on your face and it was obvious how much you were enjoying your job! I was in awe as you directed everyone and shot pictures with such creativity and grace. I received so many wonderful compliments about you throughout the three days of picture taking. I was so privileged to be a part of the "First Look" pictures and was brought to tears to witness how you made that session so special, joyous and touching for the bride and groom. Thank you, Korie! It was such an amazing journey this past week and you made it so very special!
Obviously, you have a tremendous gift! I pray that your job continues to bless you and take you to many more moments that makes your heart full!
Smiles and Blessings!
